The world's first bullock riding championship with $10,000 prizemoney will be up for grabs as part of the Millmerran Show and Rodeo on March 2.
Organiser, Sean O'Hanlon said this is the first time bullocks had been used and two great sponsors have come on-board to make this event happen.
"The world bullock riding championships will carry the cash prize of $10,000 plus a world championship buckle," Sean said.
Sean said that bullocks for the event will be generously provided by Noel and Liz Cook, Moruya Feedlot, Kindon Station, Goondiwindi.
"Due to this great sponsorship we have named the event the Moruya World Championship Bullock Ride," Sean said.
"There will be additional buckles for the highest scoring local rider and a $250 voucher for the highest scoring lady rider."
Nominations in the World Championship Bullock Rider will be limited to 100 competitors.
"As well local business Millmerran Rural Agencies has also come on-board and have sponsored the bareback, saddle bronc, and bull ride," he said.
There will be $1200 prizemoney for Bull ride, and the same prizemoney for the bronc and bareback ride.
The rodeo events will start with the junior events at 2.30pm, followed by the main event at 4.30pm in the rodeo yards at the Millmerran showground.
Entries open February 21 through Rodeo Serves Australia and close on Monday, February 25 at noon.
