The opening day of the annual February All Breeds Sale Bull and Female Sale, CQLX, Gracemere today saw two breeds hit highs of $13,000.

The opening day of the annual February All Breeds Sale Bull and Female Sale, CQLX, Gracemere today saw two breeds hit highs of $13,000.

Brahmans opened with a $13,000 setting an overall average of $4588 to clear 54 percent.

Used sires topped at $8000 to average $5333, to clear 75 percent, while Brahman females topped at $9000 to average $3125 and clear 82 percent.

Simmentals sold to $13,000 to average $4235 clearing 37 percent. Simbrahs averaged $3134 with a 39 percent clearance rate.

In all, 120 lots set a $3960 average clearing 56 percent. However, after sale negotiations saw that figure improve markedly.

Top selling Brahman was the 37-month-old, 858kg, 142EMA, red, Wandilla Jagger.

Offered by Lee and Gillian Collins, Wandilla Stud, Marlborough the son of NCC Duvall (IVF) sold to Brett and Susan Kirk and family, Hazelton Stud, Middlemount.

Wandilla also took the top seller in the Used Sire section with their grey, FBC Bravo Manso (1038kg) (144EMA) making $8000 also selling to the Hazelton Stud.

Top Brahman female was the red, Kenrol Miss Getti (AI) (12-months) (NCC Serengeti (SA)) selling for $9000. Catalogued by Ken and Wendy Cole, Kenrol Stud, Gracemere, she sold to Fenella Neilson, Tolmie Creek, Blackwater.
