RURAL CRIME: Jersey, the French Bulldog that is at the centre of a $10,000 extortion attempt in Roma.
POLICE are investigating an extortion demand of $10,000 for a French Dog that went missing in Roma.
The dog – Jersey – went missing at about 6.30am on January 20.
After an extensive search, the owner Chloe Scherini posted an appeal on social media.
However, on January 29 a text message from an unknown number was received demanding that $10,000 be paid into a bank account for the safe return of the dog.
Police are calling on anyone with information to contact police.
