PAMPAS farmer Lyndon Pfeffer, aged 62, who was involved in a collision on the Gore Highway, near Millmerran on December 27, died from his injuries on Sunday.
The traffic crash, which involved two trucks travelling south on the highway at Pampas, claimed the life of a 7-year-old boy who was a passenger of one of the trucks.
The accident left Mr Pfeffer in a critical condition and he was transferred to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.
Mr Pfeffer along with his wife Lyndelle, farmed 813 hectares at Bungaree, where he grew predominantly sorghum.
In 2012 he was named Queensland Grain Grower of the Year and presented with the Jason Rae Memorial award.
Former AgForce grains president Wayne Newton said the community had been in shock following the horrific crash.
“Lyndon was a prominent farmer in that Pampas area, he lived not very far from where the accident occurred and he was still harvesting some late crop,” Mr Newton said.
"He was a well respected member of local farming community, a respected grain farmer and he was just carrying out his normal day to day operations.”
