There were 378 head sold at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale on Monday. The market was easier for cows and feeder cattle, with rates easing on the back of the continuing dry weather. With the local area one of the least affected by the dry weather, younger cattle sold well on the current market, with restockers still active.

Danny Doyle, Dayboro, sold Angus weaner calves, with steers making $720 and heifers $600. Peter and Kerri-Ann Young, Wamuran, sold mixed breed yearling heifers for $860. Andrew Little, Stanmore, sold Droughtmaster cattle, 12 months, with steers making $905 and heifers $875. Barry Pratten, Mt Kilcoy, sold Charbray weaner steers for $680. Baker and Haseler, Dayboro, sold Droughtmaster steers, 10 months, for $800. Col and Tricia Heathwood, King Scrub, sold Droughtmaster steer calves for $620. Chris Watson, Wamuran, sold Droughtmaster calves for $500. Bevin Peters, Kilcoy, sold Brangus weaner steers for $680-$840. Alberton Investments, Bald Hills, sold weaner steers for $720 and Droughtmaster calves, with steers making $550 and heifers $520.
