Racing diehards flocked to the Dalby Airport on Sunday to witness the new 2019 Commodore Supercar in action.
More than 3000 fans were in attendance at the free family fun day which featured an icon of Australian motorsports, Craig Lowndes.
Western Downs Regional Council partnered with the Red Bull Holden Racing Team to launch the new supercar, and Mayor Paul McVeigh said hosting the launch was a great thrill for the people of the region.
"Motorsports is hugely popular on the Western Downs and I know people were really excited to see Craig Lowndes behind the wheel of the new Red Bull Holden Racing Team car," he said.
"This is exactly the kind of event that makes the Western Downs such a great place to work and live.
"What a great way to start the new year.”
The Red Bull Holden Racing Team was excited to hold the launch in Dalby, bringing the car to the fans and supportive community.
Local fans had the opportunity to meet Craig Lowndes for autograph signing, and the afternoon included a barbeque with music, giveaways and plenty of fun for the whole family.
Craig Lowndes said he was especially excited to launch the new car in Dalby to kick off 2019.
"I'm really excited to start 2019 by launching the new Red Bull Holden Racing Team livery in the heart of Queensland,” he said.
“Launching the new season in Dalby, with the amazing support of the Western Downs Regional Council and meeting the community there was a great start to the year."
