The special end of year sale in Dalby attracted 1268 head and included in the line-up were 500 head from far western Queensland plus 25 from NSW with the balance from the usual supply areas.
Most of the regular feeder operators were in attendance plus a good panel of restocker buyers. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock were in the largest numbers and sold to strong demand. Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 11c/kg dearer.
Light weight yearling heifers to restockers or background improved in price by 14c/kg. The remainder of the yearling heifers experienced strong support for the quality penned.
Light weight yearling steers to restockers averaged 309c and made to 332.2c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed made to 319.2c with most around 311c/kg. The small selection of heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 312c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers made to 288.2c to average 269c/kg. The largest sample of medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 277c and made to 292.2c/kg. A handful of medium weight bulls to feed made to 288.2c/kg.
