IT’s official. The cow judged the supreme champion female of Beef 2018 in Rockhampton has now been named Miss World of both the Droughtmaster and Beefmaster breeds.
Farogan Valley Aura, a four year by Strathfield XXXX Gold and from a Valley View cow, was named Miss World at this week’s joint Beefmaster/Droughtmaster Champion of the World judging in Fort Worth, Texas.
Aura was judged with the now 12 month old heifer Arial at foot.
She scored automatic entry into the competition by winning Australia’s largest stud cattle show in May. The judging was based on photographs supplied for each eligible animal.
Ecstatic owners Nick and Sarah Hughes from Farogan Valley Droughtmasters, Upper Kandanga, first heard the very welcome news at 4.15am on Wednesday.
Three of the four judges, including Australia’s Brett Nobbs, placed Aura in the winning position. Aura scored nine points from the judging panel, well ahead of Beefmasters from Mexico and South Africa, which placed second and third respectively.
Auro is now in the running for the 16 breed Champion of the World competition to be held in the UK next year.
Aura’s genetics will be show at the February All Breeds Sale in Rockhampton in February. Two bulls will be on offer: Farogan Valley Thunder, an ET full brother to Aura, and Farogan Valley Ace is by Talgai Chico.
Five embryos from Auro by Rocky View 714 were recently transferred into recipients.
