Past students from a wide area including Samoa gathered to reminisce at the Back to College weekend held at UQ Gatton last weekend.
A record 300 attended the weekend, with 257 sitting down to dinner on the Saturday night and included the awarding of Distinguised Past Student awards presented to Bruce Mutch, Don Oxenham and Jack Stegall.
And for the first time the gathering was privileged to have the University of Queensland Chancellor, Peter Varghese as a special guest.
He told those attending that it was very obvious that the residential aspect of life on campus grew a sense of community and friendship, creating a bond between students but also with the institution.
The UQ Gatton Past Students Association museum and regular bus tours of the campus kept visitors busy, between meeting and greeting many friends from the past.
