With a larger yarding of cattle this week at Gracemere, CQLX combined agents yarded a total of 2739 head, an increase of 1191 head on last week. The yard comprised of 1060 steers, 1338 heifers, 194 cows, 76 cow and calf units and 71 bulls and mickeys. Cattle were drawn from Nebo, Sarina, Middlemount, Boyne Valley and local areas. There was a mixed line of cattle this week, however there were several quality lines of feeder heifers that met restocker and feedlot competition.
Slaughter steers sold to 297c, average 272c, steers 400-500kg made 298c, average 267c, steers 300-400kg reached 296c, average 279c, steers 200-300kg made 306c, average 264c and steers under 200kg sold to 318c, average 289c.
Slaughter cows sold to 256c, average 236c, cows 400-450kg made 251c, average 226c, cows 320-400kg reached 260c, average 197c, and cows under 320kg made 202c, average 151c.
Heavy heifers sold to 282c, average 257c, heifers 300-400kg made 272c, average 259c, heifers 200-300kg reached 274c, average 245c, and heifers under 200kg made 254c, average 219c.
Cows and calves sold to $1200/unit, average $900/unit.
Bulls over 600kg made 283c, average 256c, bulls 450-600kg reached 278c, average 264c and bulls under 450kg sold to 274c, average 216c.

Lake Elphinstone Partnership, Lake Elphinstone, Nebo, sold a line of 164 Charbray/Brahman cross heifers topping at 272c the consignment averaged 264c for an average weight of 291kg to return an average figure of $767/head.
Junee Pastoral Company, Dingo, sold a line-up of 185 Brahman/Droughtmaster cross heifers to top at 266c to average 253c for an average weight of 260kg. The consignment returned an average of $660/head.
S and S Borg, Sarina, sold a quality line of No. 8 Brahman steers topping at 290c weighing 298kg to return $864/head.
J and R Olive, Marlborough, sold a line of No. 8 Brahman steers topping at 318c to average 195kg to return $564/head
