STATION owners from across Northern and Central Queensland converged at the Dalrymple Saleyards for the MAGS bull sale on Friday.
Spirited bidding ensued for the quality Droughtmaster bulls at the annual event in Charters Towers.
A total of 98 bull sold on the day to gross $756,500, with an average of $7720 and a top price of $35,000 for Lamont Quicksilver, which was purchased by Eric and Lyn Slack-Smith of Gladevale Station, near Richmond.
The registered Droughtmaster sire was one of 54 to sell, grossing $457,500 to average $8470.
A total of 32 herd Droughtmaster bulls sold to gross $217,000 with an average of $6780 and a top price of $18,000.
Nine Charolis X Droughtmaster bulls grossed $70,000 to average $7780 with a top price of $12,000.
Three Brahman X Droughtmaster bulls sold grossing $12,000 to average $4000 and with a top price of $4000.
The bulls were sold on behalf of four vendors: Mac and Gayle Shann, Lamont Stud, Cantaur Park, Clermont: Hugh and Sherri Philp, Valley Stud, Wyena, Clermont; Kylie Graham and Mat Durkin, Mungalla Stud, Farnham, Taroom and Alison Atkinson, Durack Stud, Frenchville, Rockhampton.
