With the forecast of rain on the horizon numbers fell to just over 850 head at the Emerald prime and store sale on Thursday. With a similar quality yarding to previous weeks evident, mostly all categories saw an increase in rate.
Bullocks over 550kg made to 296c/kg to average 292c, while steers 500-550kg made to 289c to average 281c, steers 400-500kg reached 283c to average 270c, 350-400kg steers topped at 273c to average 268c. Steers 280-350kg made to 284c to average 267c, while steers in the weaner weight ranges made to 305c to average 282c.
Heifers over 40kg topped at 259c to average 256c, heifers 350-400kg made to 234c to average 211c, 280-350kg heifers reached 243c to average 229c, while heifers in the weaner weight ranges made to 233c to average 221c.
Cows over 520kg made to 235c to average 232c, while cows 450-520kg also made to to 235c and averaged 230c. No cows and calves were present.
