BULLS sold to a top of $11,000 to average $5636 at the Nindooinbah on-property bull sale at Beaudesert today.
Hit by heavy rain an hour by the scheduled kick off time, the Elders auction was delayed by 30 minutes before the 55 head went under the hammer.
Ultrablacks topped the sale at $11,000 to average $5744. The 12 Brangus bulls sold to a top of $8000 to average $5250.
Sale topper was Nindooinbah N34, bought by Exact Civil, Cinnabar, buying through Dan Sullivan, Sullivan’s Livestock, Gympie. The 19 month old entered the sale ring at 658kg. He was a trait leader for 400 day growth and in the top 90 per cent for the 200 and 600 day markers.
Repeat buyer Melrose Station, Killarney, paid $10,000 for the highly rated Nindooinbah N162, an 18 month old by DDR Singletary’s Samson. Manager Wayne Frank’s two selection will go straight into Melrose’s 400 head Ultrablack herd.
Palgrove Pastoral bought the Brinks bloodline bull Noodoinbah N25 for $8500.
Boyd and Lisa Holden, Oakbank, Old Bonalbo, paid $8000 to top the Brangus offering: Nindooinbah N83, by Telpara Hills Lampass. The curve bender on growth traits was described as a highly suitable as a heifer bull, with top retail beef yield figures. The Holdens bought seven including four Ultrablacks. The Holdens also paid $9000 for the black Nindooinbah N98, which was in the top 1pc for eye muscle area.
Volume buyer, Consolidated Pastoral Company, bought 10 for its Wrotham Park operation in the Gulf. CPC buyer Andrew Cochrane said he had selected sleek coated, high fertility bulls.
Craig Black, Kalanoa, Moonie, bought seven Ultrablacks, while Scott McKechnie, Wanolga, St George, bought six.
Repeat buyer Paul Czislowski, Riverock, Yeppoon, bought three Ultrablacks to go into his 500 head cow herd.
