Rain in parts of the supply area reduced numbers by 1624 head to 3414 at Dalby on Wednesday. Buyer attendance was good and included some interstate operators in the feeder sections.
Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 12c to 17c/kg better and medium weight yearling heifers experienced some small improvements. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 12c dearer. The younger end of the heavy grown steers and bullocks were in demand with plain condition cows experiencing little change, while the better cows lifted in price by 8c.
Yearling steers in the 330-400kg range made from 273.2c to 293.2c up by 6c to average 284.3c. Medium weight yearling heifers to process sold from 265.2c to 270.2c averaging 266c.
Medium weight grown steers in the 500-600kg range sold from 275.2c to 306.2c to average 289c, while grown heifers up to 540kg made from 248.2c to 255c to average 252.3c. Heavy cows made from 240.2c to 260.2c to average 252.7c. The best heavy bull made to 286.2c.
