Barcaldine’s Wade Seeds and Blackall’s Clayton ‘Froggy’ O’Brien took out the major honours in the annual Longreach rodeo, held on Saturday evening.
Froggy won the open bull ride on the night, with Wade in second place, tieing with Cameron Dixon, while Bryce Dooley was fourth.
In the saddle bronc, Wade was first, the only one to post a score.
Earlier in the program, Tyson Burke scored first place prize purses in both the open steer ride and the novice bull ride.
Cameron Holley was second in the steer ride, while Luke Clifford and Blake Arnold posted equal third scores.
In the novice bull ride, it was Ross Tilley who came second, in front of Bryce Dooley in third place.
Justin Ross had a blinder of a night, winning not only the junior barrel race on Eve but coming second in that event riding Jack, then taking first place in the juvenile barrel race and collecting first place in the poddy ride.
Equal second in the junior barrel race was Parker Pegg, while Riley O’Dell was third.
Second and third placegetters in the juvenile barrel race were Arena Wheeler and Bianca Lumby.
Other poddy ride placegetters included Harry Brand, second, and Matt Ahern, third.
The novice barrel race was won by Rebekah Tasker, with Dameeka Simmons second and Bianca Lumby third.
Chantel Huddy was the winner in the ladies barrel race, while Dameeka Simmons was second, and Arena Wheeler and Bianca Lumby tied for third.
