There were 343 cattle offered at Moreton on Tuesday, where quality re-stocker steers sold to a stronger market.

Agents Boyd O’Brien Bartholomew reported a yarding of 343 head of cattle at Moreton on Tuesday.  The market for all descriptions was dearer than last week with some handy rainfall in most parts of the south east corner.  Quality re-stocker steers sold to a stronger market with the better end of the veal selling very well. The trade and export market met a very strong competitive panel of buyers.

Euro cross vealer heifers account Johnson & Hawkins, Boonah, sold for 233.2c/kg weighing 227kg to return $531.  Farmco, Beaudesert, sold Brahman cross vealer steers for 271.2c weighing 284 kg to return $770. Braford cross yearling heifers account Cunningham Pastoral, Dugandan, sold for 240c weighing 298kg to return $716.

R & L Turrell, Ivory Creek, sold Droughtmaster cross yearling steers for 270.2c weighing 245kg to return $663. Tinton Grazing, Esk, sold Greyman cross grain assist 0/2 tooth steers for 298.2c weighing 548kg to return $1636.  Tinton Grazing also sold Greyman cross grain assist 4/6 tooth steers for 303.2c weighing 590kg to return $1788. Angus cross grass manufacturing ox account Kimbarra Pastoral, Peak Crossing, sold for 291.2c weighing 585kg to return $1703.  

Fernvale Limousins sold Limousins cows for 257.2c weighing 660kg to return $1697. West Moreton Anglican College, Karrabin, sold Charolais cows for 256.2c weighing 740kg to return $1895. Bowman Park Pastoral, Rosewood, sold Droughtmaster bulls for 258.2c weighing 555kg to return $1433.  B & M Scheiwe, Marburg, sold Charolais bulls for 254.2c weighing 665kg to return $1690.
