There were 760 cattle yarded at Elders Harristown Saleyards on Monday. The market was cheaper for export categories with cows suffering the greatest drop. Quality steers suitable for trade feeders were dearer, while plainer stores were also cheaper.
Best bulls and bullocks yarded a/c J & K Wilkes, Pittsworth saw bulls reach 264.2c to return $2430 with bullocks reaching 306.2c to return $1952. Heavy feeder steers sold to 281.2c, heavy cows ex Millmerran sold to 244.2c to return $1526 with Charolais cows ex Oakey returning $1580, medium framed cows sold to 180-210c, lightweight cows 120-180c.
Best trade steers a/c Adams family, Geham sold to 290.2c to return $1247. Grain assisted Limousin steers a/c Graham and Wendy Motley, Plainby made 280.2c to return $1203. Angus cross steers a/c PG Grimes, Wyreema weighing 322kg sold to 293.2c to return $945.
