There were 874 cattle and 251 bobbies yarded at Elders Harristown Saleyards on Monday. Export and quality trade cows were firm to previous weeks with restocker cattle meeting little competition.
Best bulls a/c Marty Rowlands, Murphy’s Creek sold to 268.2c weighing 880kg to return $2360 and Robyn Nobbs, Pittsworth 277.2c weighing 955kg to return $2647. Best bullocks ex Pittsworth topped at 309.2c to return $1895. Kuhl Farming, Highland Plains supplied bullocks to reach 308.2c to return $2124 with another two Limousin steers a/c R & E Dull, Gowrie Mountain topped at 295.2c to return $2171 with his brother returning $2036. No heavy feeder steers were yarded.
Heavy heifers a/c Kuhl Farming, Highland Plains sold to 298.2c weighing 660kg returned $1968. Best cows a/c Alan Johnstone reached 253.2c weighing 745kg averaging $1886, also suppling top cows for the day was Kuhl Farming returning $1551. Trade steers a/c DK Polzin, Plainby sold to 316.2c to return $1075. An outstanding Limousin steer a/c Sam Weier, Clifton weighting 495kg returned $1540.
RJ Earl sold Limousin heifers at 310.2c to return $1291 while their young brothers weighing 408kg sold to 306.2c to return $1250. Lightweight Angus steers a/c Steveand Nikki Kahler, Geham Station Road returned to the paddock at 280.2c weighing 241kg returning $675.
