Ashleigh and Blair met five years ago, but it was another three years before they got together as a couple.
Living and working in Kingaroy, Ashleigh and Blair were commuting back to the family farm in Casino every weekend and it was during one of these trips that Blair proposed. They had pulled over along the creek on Lions Road just north of the border and while Ash was getting the dogs out of the car Blair got the ring out and took a knee.
Ashleigh and Blair were married on August 18, with the ceremony and reception at the Godfrey family farm, Fairy Hill Manor, Casino where they celebrated with 140 friends and family from all over the country.
Blair is the son of Colin and Janelle Godfrey, of Fairy Hill Manor, Casino, and Ashleigh is the daughter of Damien and Angela Smith, of Kyogle.
Ashleigh’s dress was by Jadore and the bridesmaids’ dresses were from Infinity Gownhouse. Their hair was by Elsewhere Hair and makeup by K & E Makeup.
The wedding cake was made by one of Blair’s mother’s golfing friends, Dorothy Willis, and photographer Kaitlin Maree Photography captured the couple’s special day. Ashleigh’s mother, Angela, arranged the flowers.
The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Cairns and celebrated Blair’s 26th birthday while they were there.
Since the wedding Ashleigh and Blair have been back in their house in Kingaroy, where Blair works as a civil engineer at Meandu mine and Ash is the baker at Muffin Break.
The happy couple are now looking forward to the arrival of their first baby at the end of April next year.
