A NEW lightweight self -propelled sprayer geared towards steep slopes and tight headlands is now available in Australia and New Zealand from global sprayer specialist Hardi.
Hardi Australia, chief executive officer, Bill Franklin, said while the 3000 litre Hellios was available in the European market, locally it had undergone significant changes to suit Australian conditions.
“We are acutely aware that local spraying needs are unique, that is why we build our sprayers here,” he said.
Mr Franklin said in Australia the Hellios would feature a front-mounted aluminium boom available in widths from 24 to 36 metres.
“We have been working with aluminium booms for many years, Hardi Australia has unmatched expertise in integrating aluminium boom wings with advanced boom centres to deliver the best ride, height control and durability,” he said.
“Our experience and Hardi’s sophisticated AutoHeight control means the Hellios boom will spend far more time at an optimum height above the crop or soil – and that means more effective application.”
Mr Franklin said the sprayer would be available in a fixed track width of 1.8, two and three metre options as well as optional four wheel steering for improved manoeuvrability on tight headlands.
Hardi also announced the Paragon brand for its aluminium booms.
Mr Franklin said Paragon Al booms integrated Hardi’s advanced boom centres and movement dampeners, resulting in the optimisation of each boom’s performance and longevity under a wider range of conditions.
“Our aluminium booms offer many advantages over steel booms and especially aluminium booms from other manufacturers,” he said.
