There were 600 head yarded at Elders Harristown Saleyards on Monday.
No bullocks were yarded, cows and bulls improved in price. There were no quality trade yarded, and the store market sold to a dearer trend in places for the cattle on offer.
The best bull from Arabella Farming, Brookstead weighing 975kg sold to 271.2c/kg or $2644. Heavy steers a/c N & G Polzin, Haden weighing 533kg sold to 290.2c to return $1548. Feeder steers a/c Graham and Danny Millard, Ravensbourne sold to 263.2c to return $1134. No heavy heifers were yarded.
Best heavy cows a/c John and Karol Wilkes, Pittsworth weighing 860kg sold to 263.2c to return $2263. A pen of cows a/c G & J Janke, Peranga sold to 250.2c to return $1500. Heavy Droughtmaster cows weighing 725kg returned $1770, a/c Rod Kanowski, Haden. An outstanding Limousin steer a/c Travis Luscombe sold to 299.2c weighting 505kg to return $1510.
Store Charolais steers a/c Laurie Cooper, Pittsworth weighing 342kg sold to 292.2c to return $1000. Limousin cross steers a/c G & K Motley, Plainby weighing 367kg sold to 278.2c to return $1022. Trade steers a/c JC Harth, Goombungee weighing 420kg sold to 283.2c to return $1189, while light weight Angus steers a/c John Reushle sold to 260.2c weighing 171kg.
