BULLS sold to a top of $24,000 to average $6934 at the Eidsvold Charolais sale today. The upbeat sale of 38 bulls resulted in a 93 percent clearance for a gross of $263,500.
Sale topper was Clare Mega Awesome (P), which sold to Jason and Sue Salier’s Minnie Vale Charolais, Narrabri, NSW. The 28-month-old was by Palgrove How Awesome (AI) and from Granville Charity 8 (P). The 1051kg sire had a catalogue topping 150sq cm2 eye muscle area, a 43cm scrotal measurement, a 13mm p8 fat depth, and 9mm at the rib.
Phillip Nobbs, Delargum, Moura, paid $20,000 to secure the second highest bull of the sale – Clare Mr Mac (P). The son of Ascot Knockout K109E (P/S) entered the sale ring at 954kg with a 141sq cm2 EMA.
John Inberty, Silverstone Livestock, Napier, made the trip over from Western Australia to secure the 24-month-old Clare Murdock (R/F) for $13,000. The 24-month-old was also by Ascot Knockout.
Elridge Mateo (P) by Granville Hilary (P) went home with M&J Hudson, Gin Gin, for $9500. The 21-month-old had a 131sq cm2 EMA.
Ivan Hay, Canadianvale Pastoral, Taroom, bought three for an average of $5500.
Held at TopX’s Eidsvold Saleyards, more than half of the 41 bulls on offer were polls. The bulls were offered by: Alan and Natalie Goodland, Clare Charolais, Theodore; and Ross and Paula Warren, Elridge/Sirrah Charolais, Gympie.
