UPDATE 7:15pm: Local police and Toowoomba Regional Council animal management team has attended the truck rollover and treated all injured cattle. Police also report all loose bovines have now been rounded-up. Traffic is now flowing in both directions.
PREVIOUS STORY: A livestock truck has rolled over at the top of Toowoomba’s Range with some cattle now loose in the area.
The accident happened around 5pm on Monday afternoon at the top of the Toowoomba Range near the intersection of Cohoe and James Streets on the sharp bend while approaching the Range on the Warrego Highway.
Police said traffic heading up the range is being redirected to Flagstone Creek and Murphy Creek, plus both lanes are blocked in both directions at the top of the Range as well.
Emergency crews are still on the scene cleaning up the accident with police yet to confirm if the cattle that escaped from the cattle truck after the rollover have been rounded-up and caught.
An emergency services spokesperson said a vet has been called out to the truck rollover scene to help deal with cattle in the livestock truck pens.
