Despite being the only exhibit entered in Simbrah stud cattle judging last Thurdsay, 14-month-old K.B.V. Marta was a worthy winner, thoroughly impressing judge Peter Collins with her structure and femininity.
The heifer, entered by Marty Rowlands and Stephen Lean, KBV Simmentals, Murphy’s Creek, comes from good show stock, with her mother the winner of Simbrah Grand Champion Female at Beef 2018.
“She is very correct with great thickness, power and performance. She also maintains her femininity very well.”
“She makes for a very good foundation female for our herd,” said owner Marty Rowlands.
Mr Collins, Merridale Angus, Tennyson, said she was a ‘fairly exceptional animal all round.’
“She is very long, very thick but maintains that softness as well. She didn’t look out place at all in the Interbreeds.”
“She also walks very well, with good feet. She has an impressive length of neck and a good head and jaw,” he said.
