A RECENT expansion by Faresin Industries Australia has given livestock producers a greater range of options when it comes to accessing a mixer wagon.
Chesterfield Australia is the direct importer and distributor for the Italian-made livestock feeding equipment from Faresin Industries in Breganze.
The company manufactures a range of high quality telehandlers and feed mixers, plus Faresin trailed mixers and self-propelled mixer wagons.
Faresin Industries Australia's expansion comes from feedback from Chesterfield Australia customers who were seeking a greater range to select from with a focus on quality and technology to enhance on-farm production.
The mixer wagon range includes products suitable for small producers, right up to large commercial operations.
From 3.5 to 46 cubic meter trailed versions, now available with a 3200mm elevator, Chesterfield Australia can meet any application, right up to the complete self-propelled, self-loading, four-wheel-drive, four-wheel-steer Ecomode machine doing its job at Kia Ora Feedlot in western NSW.

Quality is paramount in the design and construction of every unit built.
Using S355 grade steel as its foundation ensures integrity and longevity in all Faresin feed mixers from the smallest 3.5m tow-behind up to the triple auger, triple axle 46m tow-behind.
Combined with tungsten knives and Durostat steel, plus an adjustable power blade on the bottom of the augers, the user is guaranteed exceptional performance to match the quality.
Whether a producer is needing a small mixer running off 50Hp to keep up supplementary feeding in the dryer times or a complete total mixed ration (TMR) solution feeding thousands every day, customers are catered for with the Faresin range.
The mixers include live, instant near infrared (NIR) on-site feed analysers in hand held versions or built into mixers which can give nutritional information on the ration mix via direct RF relay to the property's nutritionist.
On the ground
QLD cattle backgrounder and feedlot owner, Neil Barron, Bell, has been putting a Faresin Magnum 2000 through its paces for about the past two years.
He puts a variety of feeds through the mixer, including dry hay, wet cakes, brewer's barley, plus a dry mix including wheat, corn and barley.
"We're pretty happy with it. It chops a lot quicker than our other wagon and we've had no tyre problems," Mr Barron said.
In fact, he's got the newer model on order to make the most of new features such a deeper tub and shorter auger.
On the other side of the country, Western Australian dairy farmer Gary Haddon, north of Busselton, uses a self-propelled Faresin wagon for mixing pasture silage, maize and grain.
His 1400 milking cows keep him busy but the task of keeping the cattle at peak performance is assisted with the large feeder arm on the front of the vehicle, a feature he particularly likes.
The mixing bowl design was another factor that drew Mr Haddon to Faresin, as was the support offered.
"We've got really good back-up service from a major dealer here in WA," he said.
For Chris Francis, a mixed farming operator at Forbes, NSW, investing in a mixer was a consideration for quite some time in order to maximise feed efficiencies, but a decision that was accelerated with present conditions.
Mr Francis runs a self-replacing flock of merino sheep and shorthorn cattle.
"We purchased the Faresin Magnum 2000 as we needed a machine that could process unchopped silage in big square bales plus mix and deliver to paddocks or troughs," he said.
"We couldn’t be happier with the machine. It has been averaging five loads a day now for two months and hasn’t missed a beat producing a quality mix."
Mr Francis said the value for money, build quality and simplicity was outstanding, along with the high level of after sales assistance.
"The only fault I have is we didn’t buy one sooner," he said.
Future growth

There are currently more than 30 dealer locations across Australia but Mr McDonald said Chesterfield Australian will continue to grow this number as it identifies the right dealers to partner with.
"It is also our intention to find suitable dealer partners in New Zealand over the coming months so that we can bring these magnificent Faresin products to our friends across the Tasman," he said.
