ABOUT 260 students from across the country took to the main ring of the Royal Queensland Show on Monday in a bid to claim the coveted champion school parader title.
It was young gun Thomas Duddy of Anglican Church Grammar School in Brisbane who claimed the final of the paraders aged 11 years to 13 years, which had 61 nominations.
Boarder Emma Steele of NEGS at Armidale then won the final for the paraders 14 years to 15 years from 117 nominations.
While Stephaine Flint, Murgon High School, took out the final for paraders 16 years to 18 years from 82 nominations.
In the end it was Ms Flint who was awarded the champion title by judges David Bolton, Shepparton, Victoria, and Kim Groner, Meandarra.
Mr Duddy was given the reserve champion title.
