Angus Australia has announce the appointment of Jonathan Faris as the cattle breed society’s new northern development officer.
Originally from the Narrabri/Wee Waa districts of north west New South Wales, Jonathan grew up on a stud and commercial Droughtmaster enterprise producing sale bulls for the northern markets at Gracemere and Roma, plus northern NSW as well as crossbred steers for the heavy domestic market.
Jonathan holds an associate diploma in beef cattle production from Emerald Agricultural College, Diploma in International Business and Masters of Business Administration.
Following this upbringing and education, Jonathan spent 15 years throughout southern and central Queensland in agribusiness banking roles, predominantly working with beef cattle producers. Most recently, Jonathan worked at Australian Limousin Breeders Society in a breed development and business capacity.
Working under the area of strategic projects, Jonathan will focus on helping identify and develop opportunities for Angus and Angus infused cattle for the benefit of the wider beef supply chain in northern Australia.
Jonathan will initially be based at Armidale in NSW head office for the planning and development phase before relocating with his family back to central Queensland in December this year.
Jonathan can be contacted on email or phone (02) 6773 4620 and 0417 219 405.
