Queensland Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington has opted against unveiling new policies, in her first major speech in the role to the Liberal National Party faithful.
Ms Frecklington used the bulk of her LNP convention address to attack the Labor government over a wide range of issues including debt, new taxes, rail transport failures, tree-clearing laws and unemployment.
As she fights to gain traction with voters against Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, she repeated on Sunday a promise for no new taxes.
She was also applauded for her plans to "bust congestion" by upgrading the M1, Sunshine Coast rail and the Bruce Highway, and called for a more diverse party membership.
"We must continue to grow our party's membership and connect with more younger people, more females - more diversity across this state," she said.
The convention in Brisbane on the weekend was the first since the 2017 election loss, after which Ms Frecklington replaced former leader Tim Nicholls to become the joint party's first female leader.
As Ms Palaszczuk's Labor government moves to reform abortion laws, the LNP voted overwhelmingly to reject attempts to legalise abortion.
A resolution on whether to call on the LNP opposition to block any form of assisted dying or euthanasia laws did not make it to a vote.
