Numbers reduced drastically for a yarding of 419 cattle at Toowoomba on Monday.

There were 419 head yarded at Toowoomba on Monday, with the forecast of onset rain numbers reduced drastically.  Export classes in limited numbers met a stronger market with quality heavy trade and better types of store cattle also dearer. 

Best bulls sold to 230.2c/kg, with top priced ex Pittsworth a/c T & H Palmer sold for 265.2c to return $1489 weighing 565kg.  A pen of quality Murray Grey steers a/c G & K Polzin, Meringandan weighing 554kg sold to $1440.  A heavy Charolais a/c Ian and Katrina Bebbington, Cambooya weighing 540kg returned $1458. 

Heavy heifer a/c M & M Reichstein, Oakey sold to 240c to $1164. A limited number of cows yarded sold in the 150-180c range with no high yielding cows yarded.  

A draft of Charolais steers a/c Schelberg Farms, Aubigny weighing 467kg topped at 292.2c to return $1366 with companion lighter steers reaching $1176.  Angus steers suitable to feed for the trade a/c Tom Newman, Wyreema weighing 328kg topped at 272.2c to return $888.  Lightweight Angus steers returning to the paddock reached 278.2c.
