There were 1908 cattle yarded for the June weaner sale, with cattle coming from Eidsvold, Proston, Nanango, Goondiwindi, Lockyer Valley, South Burnett and local areas. The market was strong for quality weaners and later and plainer weaners sold at rates probably better than expected by our loyal weaner supplier vendors.
David White and family sold three decks of Santa and Brahman weaners from their Goondiwindi property. The Santa steers topped at $1015. John and Doug Webster, Jimna, sold a quality line of Angus cross steers for $950 and $830.
Baker & Hasler sold an outstanding line of Charolais cross and Senepol cross steers making $1040 and $930. Oakcorp Pty Ltd had Charolais cross steers at $930 & $890. Garth and Toni Reiser sold Charolais cross steer calves for $840 and $760. Mt. View Pastoral Co. had Charolais cross steers for $830 and Brahman Charbray cross at $830 also. Bill Bain sold Charolais cross steer calves for $740.
Graham and Judith McPherson sold Charolais cross steer calves at $880 and $760. Gaylene Belz sold late weaner steers for $660. Graham and Doreen Francis had Charolais cross steer calves for $740 and Santa cross for $740. Fernvale Charolais sold Charolais cross steers at $770. Peter Dolan’s Limousin cross steers realised $860, while Ray Richards, Manumbar, had Charolais cross steers for $710.
Warren and Wendy Hatfield’s Charolais cross steers realised $740. Manumbar Station sold three decks of quality Charolais cross steers to $840 and $760. Bob and Dana Wainwright had Charolais steer calves for $830. Reiser & Sons, Blackbutt, sold Charolais cross steers for $875 and $760. Charlie and Sharon Stanton, Jimna, had a great line of Santa steer calves at $850, $700 and $700.
R&A Cattle Co, Nanango, had Charolais cross steers at $875 and $820. Fogg and Gloag families sold later Simmental cross weaner steers at $700. J.D Rural had Charbray weaner steers for $740. John Allery’s weaner Brangus steers sold for $760.
John Mewing, Glenhowden, sold Droughtmaster steer calves for $690. First time vendor Paul Blanch sold Santa Simmental calves for $810 and $770. Danastas family sold the last of their quality Euro cross steer calves for $500 and $490.
The best of the quality heifers were in great demand by restockers. Tim and Lindsay Conroy sold Charolais heifer calves to $950. Baker & Haseler sold Charolais cross heifers for $800. Graham McPherson’s Charolais cross heifers sold for $770.
