IT WAS a class act at CRT FarmFest, held outside Toowoomba, Queensland.
Machinery companies and dealers, both local and international, were on hand for the Sunshine State’s largest farm machinery event.
Despite the persistent dry conditions across much of the state, both exhibitor and visitor numbers were high.
Perhaps motivating this, attendees could kick the tyres of a number of new offerings, which ranged across side by side vehicles, feed mixers, headers and tractors and a host of other new innovative products.
Claas Harvest Centre Dalby sales consultant, Dylan Mott said the field days were a great opportunity to build brand awareness and showcase new products.

“It was good to get down to FarmFest,” he said.
“It was great to talk to people and find out what they thought of our brand.
“It was a great experience to hear what people think about our company, our backup, our service and our brand.”
Mr Mott said the 305 kilowatt (410 horsepower) Claas Axion 950 tractor the Claas Harvest Centre had on display garnered a lot of interest.
“It has adjustable four-point cabin suspension,” he said.
“A lot of guys put these machines out on a three-metre centre, which is very popular in farming these days.
“You can move the wheels out, allowing them to tram track.”
Mr Mott said a standout feature of the Axion range was the Fiat engine.
“The Fiat engine runs through to a continuously variable transmission (CVT),” he said.
Mr Mott said this resulted in a dynamic and fuel-efficient transmission control.
“The power to the ground is a standout feature,” he said.
“Our machines are a 50/50 weight split so we can get most of the power to the ground.
“In a lot of other machines, there is a lot of horsepower in the engine but whether the power makes it to the ground is the difference.
“With our weight split, longer wheel base and heavier tractor, we can get the power to the ground.”
Mr Mott said the Claas Axion 950 was powered by a six cylinder, 8.7 litre, 24 valve, tier 2 common rail FPT engine.
