The Queensland Government has engaged Emeritus Professor, Peter Coaldrake, AO, to undertake a broad review of vocational education and training services at Longreach Pastoral College.
A spokesperson from the Queensland Agricultural Training Colleges said Professor Coaldrake’s review will be submitted to government shortly.
They stated that QATC’s Northern Beef Industries Program continues to be based at Longreach.
“We have enacted our drought management plan and reduced cattle numbers and the courses has involved LPC students travelling to Emerald and to Berrigurra Station to ensure the fullness of their training and practical experience.
“In 2019, QATC and Longreach State High School are partnering in a new “Rural Reach” program which offers students to board at the college.” - Helen Walker
