THE Dyno Nobel Queensland Outback Barbarians will use its proven double barrel approach to take on the Birmingham Vulcans in Alabama later this afternoon.

Coming in to the match undefeated and with five wins under their belts, the tourists are taking no chances against the well performed Division One side.

Outback Barbarians coach Mike Bishop said it was vital a platform was established right from the kick off.

"We've named a very strong starting side with the the luxury of being able to bring on a good number of impact players," Bishop said.

"Rugby is all about building a platform and controlling the flow and speed of the game.

"Five games in there is a real team mentality that is focused on using all of the field."

Impact players include Jai Blakey, Tom Hewitt, Sam Schmidt, Sam Fairweather, Jesse Meinicke, Barney Watts and Tim McClymont.

The run on team is: 1. Cameron Knights. 2. Mark Neilsen. 3. Alaistair Costello. 4. Jasper Brigden. 5. Nick Ein. 6. Elvis Jensen. 7. John Moloney. 8. Tubby Heron. 9. Cameron Rosamond. 10. Andrew Kennedy. 11. Dudley Miles. 12. Tom Butcher. 13. Colby Mason. 14. Adam Conway. 15. David West.

It is the first time the Birminghm Vulcans has taken on an overseas touring team in the club's 51 year year history.
