In less than three weeks Hort Connections 2018 will bring together the horticulture industry’s most influential players and expert thought leaders for an expansive three-day trade show and conference.
Growcom is once again proud to participate as a co-host for this year’s conference, in association with AUSVEG and PMA Australia-New Zealand, at the Brisbane Convention Centre from 18-20 June.
Following on from last year’s historic event held in Adelaide, Hort Connections 2018 promises to be the most influential space for networking, education and business for the entire fresh produce supply chain.
Growcom will have its own booth at the trade show where industry members can catch up with our Innovation Coach, Export Facilitator, Agricultural Workforce coordinator and Hort360 field staff. There will also be a Fair Farms hub where growers can find outabout Fair Work compliance and employment procedures.
The Fair Farms team will be on-location to demonstrate the Hort360 workplace relations module, explain how the Fair Farms certification process works, and discuss any issues or concerns growers might have.
An industry update regarding progress towards the Fair Farms certification scheme will also be held at 12:50pm to 1:10pm on Wednesday, 20 June in the trade show hall. This is an opportunity for all industry members to hear about plans for the scheme and how it will be piloted during 2018. We encourage feedback from all interested parties to ensure the scheme is both practical and credible into the future.
Our very own Chief Advocate, Rachel Mackenzie, who will be presenting at the trade show, has also been nominated for Women in Horticulture Award. The award celebrates female industry members who have demonstrated outstanding ability and success in their chosen field.
For a one-stop-shop on all things horticulture, Hort Connections 2018 is the place to be.
