IT takes a combination of high power, fast response, deep cycling, remote monitoring, temperature tolerance and robust chemistry to make off-grid and weak grid energy storage work.
Australian energy storage company, Ecoult, creates energy storage products using the CSIRO-invented UltraBattery, which combines ultracapacitor and lead-acid chemistries in a single electrolyte to create a maintenance-free hybrid cell.
The battery was designed to deliver high performance in partial state of charge operation, with fast charging rates, high energy density, and exceptional lifetime throughput.
Ecoult’s solutions are all engineered in Australia for tough Australian conditions. Two installers of Ecoult’s UltraFlex gave the product high praise.
“I have chosen to use and recommend Ecoult’s UltraFlex batteries for all my off grid solar installations. As most of my installations are in remote areas I find the monitoring and backup of Ecoult’s engineering team very reassuring for myself and my customers,” installer John Ryan Knight said.
“The Ecoult UltraFlex has been a central part of my community microgrid, helping me keep my three-phase multi-kilowatt renewable system running smoothly, and the support I have received from Ecoult's engineers has been exemplary,” Glen Morris said.
UltraFlex has full internet monitoring for remote viewing and maintenance, and for off-grid customers, it achieves significant diesel-savings.
