A total of 324 head were yarded at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale on Monday.
The market saw steers in demand, with weaner steers up $100 per head to the previous sale. Younger cattle also sold to higher rates, while heifers remained firm.
ATG Pastoral, Mt Mee, sold a line of 10 month old Charolais cross steers for $940. Peter Simpson, Woodford, sold 6 month old Charolais steers for $730. Darryl Duncan, Mount Mee, sold 8-10 month old Blonde steers for $855.
Harry Goudie, Woodford, sold Charbray heifer butcher calves for $795. Lionel Richards, Kilcoy, sold a line of 5-6 month old Droughtmaster steers for $700. Shane Murphy, Toogoolawah, sold Charbray weaner steers for $950. Dan Hall, Kilcoy, sold 8 month old Charbray steers for $830. Tandarra, Sandy Creek, sold 8 month old Ultra Black steers for $830 and 14 month old Charolais steers for $1025.
John Harrison, Woolmar, sold Angus and Charolais cross male calves for $800. Melissa Thornton, Kilcoy, sold Angus cross calves for $755 and milk tooth Charolais steers for $1065. Peter Brough, Woodford, sold 8-10 month old Droughtmaster steers for $855. Christine Ledger, Stanmore, sold a Brahmousin bull for $1540.
