KLR Marketing will again be front and centre with a stand at Beef Australia 2018, and will have a number of excellent offerings for livestock producers looking to add viability and profitability in their own operations.
There’s the opportunity to win not one, but two sought- after places at the KLR Marketing School, valued at $2860, to be drawn at Beef Australia on Friday, May 11.
Rod Knight, Jim Lindsay and Grahame Rees will be at Beef Australia and at the KLR breakfast events in Rockhampton. They look forward to discussing the ways KLR Marketing can help reveal the formula for successful livestock marketing, no matter your livestock enterprise.
“As we celebrate 15 years of KLR Marketing, it’s a great time for Rod, Jim and I to reflect on being fortunate to have met and worked with Bud Williams whose teachings formed the basis of the KLR School today,” Grahame Rees said.
“Hailing from across Australia, as well as internationally, KLR Marketing graduates can also enjoy ongoing support through the KLR Mastermind network including advanced tools and weekly teleconferences.
“It’s fantastic to see so many livestock producers, of both sheep and cattle, learn the KLR Marketing principles like balancing the inventories of grass, money and livestock to maximise their cash flow and profitability. We thoroughly enjoy seeing them apply those principles to get the best out of their operation.
“And we like to practise what we preach – Rod, Jim and I all utilise the KLR principles day to day in our own livestock operations.”
KLR has recently developed the 12-month KLR Business Program. It starts with the basic understanding of tools like gross margins, profit and loss, and balance sheets, and incorporates the KLR principles into a budgeting program, culminating in a five-year strategic plan.
“Simplifying business jargon into what is practical, what is important and how to implement it is the most invaluable part of the KLR Business Program,” Grahame said. “We aim to grow and evolve all of our programs alongside the ever-changing livestock marketing landscape, which I think is extremely important.”
Grahame said one of the most important lessons at a KLR Marketing school is understanding what your cost of carry is.
“Establishing which animals are overpriced and which animals are under-priced will also help you to make decisions that pay dividends.” Grahame said.
“KLR Marketing is about providing breeders and traders with the tools required to deal with every situation they face. Time and time again we see KLR graduates making the best of whatever the weather or the market throws at them.”
KLR Marketing will host two breakfast events during Beef Australia, with registrations open at www.klrmarketing.com.au. The KLR breakfasts are on track to be popular events again this year. The breakfasts will be held at 7am Wednesday, May 9, and 7am Friday, May 11, at the Rockhampton Leagues Club.
“Whether you are a KLR graduate, interested in doing a school or you’d like to know more about the principles, we welcome you to come to the KLR stand at Beef Australia or one of the two breakfasts,” Grahame said.
“Positions are already filling for the next KLR Marketing Schools, to be held in Orange, NSW, in September and Brisbane in November 2018, so we look forward to meeting new members of the growing KLR community.”
