The attention of the world beef industry again focuses on Rockhampton, Queensland for the 11th triennial Beef Australia event – Beef Australia 2018.
This is one of the most significant industry gatherings on the beef calendar. Over seven days, Beef Australia 2018 will showcase the very best the Queensland beef industry has to offer, from the latest genetics research to biosecurity, food safety, animal welfare and environmental management.
Queenslanders are very passionate about beef and are Australia’s largest producer and exporter of beef.
We work hard to provide a world-class quality product for world markets, and we are succeeding with current beef production in our State worth $5.9 billion (AUD).
Australia is the world’s third largest exporter of beef, and Queensland accounts for almost 60 per cent of Australia’s total beef exports.
We also have the largest amount of ‘certified organic’ agricultural production land in Australia.
That success is borne out by events like this, which shine a spotlight on Rockhampton – Australia’s beef capital.
The Queensland Government is proud to be a principal sponsor of this event and will be on show at the Sidney Kidman Pavilion during Beef Australia 2018.
On behalf of the Queensland Government, I welcome visitors from across Australia and overseas to Beef Australia 2018.
