To support the core idea essential to Beef Australia, and to celebrate all facets of the beef industry, Angus Australia will be involved in a wealth of events and activities.
Angus Australia marketing and communications manager Diana Wood said the Angus stud cattle competition is expected to be fiercely contested with an impeccable selection of the breeds’ best to be judged on Thursday, May 10 from 7.30am in Ring 2.
She said a seminar will be held on Tuesday May 8, ftom 9.30am to 10.30am in the Gallagher Energizer Room (James Lawrence Pavilion), featuring guest speaker Pat Gleeson, general manager of Oakey Beef Exports and Thomas Borthwicks, Mackay, in the NH Foods Australia Group.
Ms Wood said production of Angus cattle and the development and processing of Angus beef brands plays an integral role in the advancement of the Australian beef industry.
“In this seminar you’ll have a backstage pass to one of our industry’s most successful integrated Angus supply chains. What they do, how they do it, why they do it and the Angus premium generated throughout their enterprises,” she said.
Mr Gleeson will discuss the role of Whyalla Feedlot and Oakey Beef Exports in the Angus Reserve production process and the benefits NH Foods Australia sees in promoting an Angus brand.
Angus Australia is also a sponsor of the Beef Industry Symposium taking place on Tuesday, May 8. The symposium will feature a line-up of economic, political, digi-tech, market and trade experts who will discuss the global disruption agenda.
The symposium lunch is sponsored by Angus Australia and Bindaree Beef.
Bindaree Beef’s Cape Byron Angus, a Verified Angus Beef brand, will be offered for eating at the event.
Ms Wood said Angus Australia will have a trade stand in the Durack Pavilion across sites 1-3, where staff will be on-site for breed enthusiasts to drop in and discuss all things Angus.
