THE 100 hectare (246 acre) farm Kurrajong Irrigation in the highly regarded Mount Irving district west of Toowoomba has sold at auction for $1.375 million.
The buyers were nearby landholder Ross and Patricia Mason.
The sale price is equal to about $13,750/ha ($5589/acre).
About 100 people attended the auction held in Middle Ridge Club Club.
Kurrajong Irrigation has a 117 megalitre groundwater allocation able to be used for irrigation, intensive livestock and commercial applications.
Mount Irving district is known for its exceptional quality soft friable clay soils. All of the property is cultivated.
The irrigation bore is equipped with Giles and Gaskin turbine pump driven by a John Deere 4045 diesel engine. There are four centre pivot circles each covering 17ha (41 acres). They are interconnected by 150mm underground mains. In addition, there are two stock bores.
