A RAIN affected yarding saw aged Charbray cows and calves sell to $1740 at Shepherdon and Boyd’s Toogoolawah store cattle sale on Friday.
Simbrah aged cows and calves sold for $1720. Rod and Helena Dann sold Charbray heifers and calves for $1690. Mike and Majella Lucey sold units for $1560, Santa-cross for $1650 and Angus-cross for $1670.
Santa-cross steers 16-18 months from Stark Contracting sold for $1160. W&W Latimer, Kalbar, sold Charolais-cross steers 15 months for $1120 and Droughtmasters for $1100. Paradise Grazing Co, Nanango, sold Charbray 10 months steers for $1100. Mt View Pastoral Co sold 16 month old Brahman-cross steers for $1135 and 14 months Santa-cross steers for $1075. Peter Simpson had Charbray weaner steer calves sell for $955 and $900. Peter Buntine sold Grey Brahman steers 12 months for $970. J&N Lewis had four and five month old Charolais steer calves make $740.
Heifers were once again in strong demand. Mike Conroy sold Charolais-cross heifers 15 months for $1100 and Angus-cross heifers for $1100. Selwyn Stark, Anduramba, sold 15 mths Droughtmaster heifers for $1060. M Anderson’s Charbray heifers 15 months made $1090. Brian Conroy, Mt View, had Droughtmaster-cross heifers 12 months for $1025 and Charolais-cross heifers 10-12 months for $950 and $885.
David Delaforce sold Santa-cross heifers 16 months for $1100. Peter Buntine’s Brahman-cross heifers six months sold for $1050. Rob and Jenny Grieve had Charolais-cross heifers 10 months for $980. Peter Simpson’s Charolais-cross heifer calves realised $840, $820 and $800. Ian Williams, Gregors Creek, sold Droughtmaster heifer calves for $800. Samual Holdings sold two decks of Angus-cross heifer calves in light store condition from its western properties for $750, $730 and $700 and lighter types for $650.
