YOUNG Angus-cross cows with four to five months old Charolais-cross calves at foot sold for $1710 at Shepherdson and Boyd’s Toogoolawah store sale on Friday.
Another standout at the lively 1050 head sale was a deck of 16 months old Charolais/Red Brangus-cross heifers from Peter Scholl, Mundubbera, that made $1160.
Bob and Dana Wainwright had zero and two tooth Euro-cross steers for $1440. Brett and Trish Runge of Kilcoy sold two and four tooth Santa Charbray steers for $1450 and $1410. JP Hoey, Conondale, sold 18 month Droughtmaster steers for $1150. Frank and Wade Stretton, Blackbutt, sold Angus-cross milk tooth steers for $1390 and Charolais-cross weaner steers for $950. John Masters sold Charolais-cross steers 14 months for $1010. T&P Newell of Maleny had Charolais-cross steers two years for $1300.
Glynn and Karen Crosby sold Hereford-cross steers 18 months for $1010 and Droughtmaster steers for $920 and $910. Toni Webster’s 10 months Droughtmaster steers sold for $960. G&E Horrocks, Mt Sylvia, sold Droughtmaster steers 14 months for $940 and $930. Reiser and Sons had Charbray weaner steers for $1070. Fernvale Pastoral Co sold eight months Charbray steers for $800. Liam Birchley had Charbray steer calves for $780 and $750. Eric Wade’s eight month old weaner calves made $840. Natasha Schultz of Laidley, sold a used four and a half year old Charolais bull for $3000.
W&M Bain, Mt Binga, sold young PTIC Charbray cows for $1300 and $1230. Lakeside Farms, Atkinsons Dam, had Brangus heifers 16 months for $1300 and $1200. WA Chapman, Thangool, sold Euro-cross heifers 14 months for $1080. Shane Schultz and family, Laidley, had 14 months Charolais-cross heifers which sold for $1000. Reiser and Sons sold Charbray heifers 10 months for $970 while Garth and Toni Reiser had Charolais-cross heifers 14 months for $990 and $960. Gavin Wolff sold Charolais-cross heifers 10 months for $810. Young and Manns, Blackbutt, sold Droughtmaster heifers 10 months for $800. Deb Thorne sold Droughtmaster heifers six to eight months for $750. Quality Droughtmaster heifers six months from Bellthorpe sold for $770.
Cows and calves stole the show at last Friday’s Toogoolawah sale with a yarding of 200 cows and calves. Mike and Majella Lucey had Angus-cross No.4 cows with Charolais-cross calves 4-5 months for $1710, Charbray for $1610 and Euro-cross for $1630 and $1500. Zachary Christensen of Rosevale sold three decks of Santa cows with Charolais-cross calves for $1480 and $1460. Telarah Farming of Lowood sold Shorthorn-cross cows and calves for $1670, $1460 and $1420. Gavin Wolff sold Charolais-cross cows and calves for $1500. Mark Lavenders Charolais-cross cows and calves sold for $1600. D&S Sippel of Minden sold Charolais-cross cows and calves for $1450. Moorabool Partners sold Charbray cows and calves for $1600, Brangus for $1460 and Droughtmaster for $1490 with quality young Brahman-cross at $1550.
