An octogenarian has suffered severe injuries after a neighbourhood dispute.


An octogenarian has suffered severe injuries after a lawn mower was used in a neighbourhood dispute on Saturday morning.

A crime scene has been established at Port Macquarie after police received reports of two men fighting in Crestwood Drive around 9.30am.

When police arrived, they discovered an 81-year-old man with injuries to his hands, torso and legs.

Paramedics treated him at the scene before taking him to Port Macquarie hospital.

Police said initial investigations revealed a lawn mower and a large knife were used in the altercation.

A 72-year-old man is speaking with investigators at Part Macquarie police station.
