The Property Tour program has been providing visitors from Australia and overseas with inspiration since the inception of Beef Australia in 1988. Beef Australia is thankful to all the Central Queensland beef producers who have opened their gates over the past 30 years, allowing the property tour program to grow and prosper throughout the last 10 expos.
In 2018, 12 producers will open their gates to offer visitors a first-hand observation of Central Queensland's stud and commercial cattle properties. The Westpac Property Tours program features two platinum tours, six full-day tours, and four half-day tours.
The fly-in-fly-out platinum tours in 2018 will be to Kaiuroo and Rowanlea, offering guests the opportunity to spend one-on-one time with leading producers and learn what systems they are using to manage their properties.
The six full-day tours will travel to Mt Elsa, Bald Hills, Barfield Station, Belmont Research Station, Berrigurra and Foleyvale Station. These tours will focus on everything from organic beef production, pasture management and alternative feeding solutions, to the latest in livestock management technology.
The four half-day tours will travel to the SBB and Arrow Farmquip Demonstration Yards located at Nerimbera, a tour of the Fitzroy River estuary, CQLX and Aintree. These tours will showcase the latest low-stress stock handling products, DEXA technology, the history of the beef industry, and techniques used to drought-proof coastal properties.
A booklet with the details of each of these tours will be available to download from our website from mid-January and tickets go on sale in February.
