There were 435 head yarded at Moreton on Tuesday, with yearlings and vealers selling to a strong market.


There were 435 head yarded at Moreton on Tuesday. All buyers were in attendance. Yearlings and vealers sold to a strong market and backgrounders are remaining strong due to above average seasonal conditions. Trade, export and feeder cattle sold to a cheaper market.

Llarnarth Pastoral Co, Charters Towers sold Brangus cross yearling heifers for 324.2c weighing 214kg to return $695. C & J Johnston, Blanchview sold Euro cross yearling steers for 332.2c weighing 261kg to return $869.  Elsebach Grazing, Gayndah sold grainfed ox for 282.2c weighing 586kg to return $1655.  Brangus cross feeder steers account Huston Contracting sold for 309.2c weighing 327kg to return $1012.  Feeder heifers account D Patterson sold for 292.2c weighing 345kg to return $1008.

Tinton Grazing, Esk sold Greyman cross grain assist heifers for 279.2c weighing 302kg to return $844. Tinton Grazing sold grain assist steers for 289.2c weighing 330kg to return $954.  Lindsay Conroy sold Brahman cross cows for 218.2c weighing 415kg to return $905.  Huston Contracting sold Santa cross cows for 232.2c weighing 580kg to return $1346.  G Doyle sold Droughtmaster bulls for 269.2c weighing 720kg to return $1938.

The first sale for 2018 will be on Tuesday January 9.
