SHIFTING air compressors around farm for fire prevention blow down or maintenance work has been made more convenient with the launch of the Atlas Copco 8 series.
The range, fitted with a Kubota V1505 or V1505T four cylinder engine, is suitable for large jobs requiring portability.
David Buttigieg, sales manager for Redstar Equipment said the new compressor range combined efficiency, reliability and convenience
“For the first time, it’s possible to transport a compressor that can produce up to five metres cubed of air per minute, with a full-size fuel tank, aftercooler and generator,” he said.
“All towed behind a normal passenger car, with no special driving license required.”
Mr Buttigieg said this was made possible as the compressor is 150kg lighter than comparable models.
“They’ve also reduced service time, fuel consumption and increased utilisation,” he said.
The range includes ten new models with air flows from 2-5 m3/min (130-190 cfm) at 100 PSI.
Mr Buttigieg said service time was under an hour, and the compressor would only require an oil service once every two years.
The compressor is fitted with a Hard Hat canopy, which said Mr Buttigieg, protected the compressor from a wide range of conditions.
