FORMER Maranoa Mayor Robert Loughnan will stand in the seat of Warrego in the state election as a Katter Australia Party candidate.
Mr Loughnan was formally announced with KAP in Roma on Wednesday.
The Roma grazier had spent 22 consecutive years in local government until March last year when he was beaten in the mayoral race by current Maranoa mayor Tyson Golder.
He nominated but was defeated for pre-selection for the LNP in the state seat of Warrego in 2014 against current member Ann Leahy.
Mr Loughnan said he would focus on electricity prices, gun restrictions, water security and vegetation management.
He’ll do battle with fellow Warrego candidates Mark O’Brien (ALP), Ann Leahy (LNP), Ian Mazlin (Greens) and Mark Stone.
