There were 191 head yarded at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale on Monday. With recent rain in the area, a smaller yarding was offered, with all types selling to stronger rates.
Brett Gould, Ocean View, sold Droughtmaster vealer heifers for $700. John Chambers, Neuram, sold a Santa cow and calf for $1335, cows for $1180, Santa calves for $480 and 5 month old calves, with steers making $710 and heifers $675.
Greg Henderson, Stoney Creek, sold Limousin vealers for $700. L & L Paulis, Delaneys Creek, sold a line of Charbray male calves, 6-7 months, for an impressive $815. Kevin Dellaway, Toogoolawah, sold Limousin vealers for $775-$820.
Wally Breton, Peachester, sold a line of Droughtmaster heifers for $895. Ray Smoothy, Elginvale, sold milk tooth Santa cross heifers for $925-$1050. Oakwood Machinery, Kilcoy, sold dairy culls for $1150. Bobby calves were in demand, with week old calves selling for $140.
