Droughtmaster steers to $1375 at Woodford

Woodford Droughtmaster steers make $1375


The Woodford cattle sale held firm on last week's rates with 327 head yarded on Monday.


A total of 327 head were yarded on Monday at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale. The market continued to hold firm on the previous sale. 

An Angus bull from Caboolture sold for $2800. Daniel Griffin, Woodford, sold a Droughtmaster bull for $2000 and Joy Patrick, Brendale, sold a bull for $1820. Alberton Investments, Bald Hills, sold a line of 20-24 month old Droughtmaster steers for $1375.

Woodford Carriers, Villenue, sold cows to a top of $1400. Shane & Neta Malone, Kobble Creek, sold Charolais cross steer calves, 5-6 months for $760. Gary Brown, Stoney Creek, sold lines of Charolais cross calves, 4-6 months, for an impressive $730-$735.

Peter Simpson, Woodford, sold a line of Droughtmaster vealer heifers for $735. Nevil Green, Villeneuve, sold Droughtmaster weaners, with steers making $890 and heifers $805. Lorraine Sinclair, Witta, sold a Droughtmaster cow and calf for $1570.

Greg Walker, Kobble Creek, sold Charbray steer calves for $765. Michael Christie, Stanmore, sold 7 month old Charbray steers for $795.
