Fifty soft, moderate frame Simmental bulls will go under the hammer at the 6th Annual Lucrana Simmentals on property sale.
A decision more than a decade ago to use predominately polled sires within the herd has resulted in 80 per cent of this year’s bull draft being polled. Most importantly the stud principals believe that they have not sacrificed any of the qualities their cattle are renowned for, as the number of polled cattle in the herd increases.
All bulls have a comprehensive vaccination history and have been vet checked, semen tested and sperm morphology evaluated. A first for Lucrana will be the offering of some Black Simmentals by the stud. This small group of impressive yearling bulls possess breed leading index values and boost some of the breeds leading Black Simmental bloodlines.
As with past sales, there is an offer of free freight on all lots to common delivery points within Queensland and northern NSW, or a freight rebate for those using their own transport. Also on offer are 18 top quality unjoined commercial purebred heifers. Some genetic lots are up for grabs, including a flush package in one the stud’s leading Black female.
The sale is scheduled for midday, July 7 on property at Texas, Qld.
